When I came to live with my human I already had a name: Mika. The human also calls me Mika Cheeka, and Mika Squeak-a (because I squeak a lot). The tall man calls me “The Turkey.” (That’s called irony, because I look like a regal eagle, the opposite of a turkey. I’m not a Turkey! … although sometimes I make a gobble-gobble sound when I beg.)
The orange one is called Stewie, Stu-bird, Chicken Bird and Stu-monster. I think the last one is especially fitting. The place where he came from called him Martin, but the human didn’t think it suited him so she renamed him after the football-headed character on the Family Guy.
Oh yeah, lately I have also been called “Beggin’ Strips” because I have been acting like a “Beggy-McBeggy pants”, whatever that means.
What are you called?

Violet is a great name!
I guess “Gillie” is a nickname, since my full name is Gillian. But, no one calls me that! I also get called “Gillie Girl” and “Silly Gillie Girl.”
Django has nicknamed himself “G.”
The little African parrot we share a room with calls himself “Mr. Baby” and “Masti Baby.”

BTW – ‘Kibibi’ is a Swahili word for ‘Princess’, ‘Female Parrot’, and ‘foot that has fallen asleep’.

Mika, maybe the human who named you is a fan of Mika – you know the pop singer? He’s a bit kooky and funky like Pionus!
And Stewie, I’m glad I’m not the only named after a cartoon character!
